Daniil Medvedev news: World no 2 happy with physical condition ahead of French Open despite defeat
Daniil Medvedev declared himself happy with his physical condition and on course for the French Open after his return to action ended in defeat at the Geneva Open.
The world number two, who had not played for two months after undergoing hernia surgery, was well beaten by veteran Richard Gasquet on Tuesday, the Frenchman winning 6-2 7-6 (7/5) to move into the quarter-finals.
"(I will) have some days of practice before Roland Garros so I'm going to try to work physically and also tennis-wise. Hopefully I can try to find the game I had there last year (when he reached the quarter-finals), which is not going to be easy."
