Daniel Dubois says victory over Anthony Joshua is 'written in the stars' as he predicts long reign at boxing summit

Daniel Dubois believes he is destined to defeat Anthony Joshua in their heavyweight world title clash in front of a sold-out Wembley Stadium.

On September 21 - Dubois - who has been elevated to IBF champion of the world after beating Filip Hrgovic for the interim title back in June - takes on fellow hard-hitter Joshua in only the fourth heavyweight world title contest between two Brits in the 21st century. The 26-year-old boxer has bounced back from a loss to unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk to score two impressive stoppage victories against leading contenders Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller to set up a blockbuster clash with Joshua.

The much more seasoned AJ is also on a red-hot run of form since he suffered back-to-back defeats against Usyk - and got rid of former UFC star Francis Ngannou in devastating fashion in Saudi Arabia back in March. Despite possessing sizeable power of his own, Dubois is a 3/1 outsider to beat two-time world champion Joshua. But the London-fighter is convinced that can put on a show and defend his title in style on September 21.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I can't wait it is all written in the stars for me and I have to hold on to my belt. I want to put on a show that no-one will forget. I am just staying in my lane at the moment.

"I'm just sharpening up my tools, I need to hold on to my belt. On the night I'm just ready to fight and go to war. I just believe it is my time now, it is all on the line for me and it is time to shine.

"It is my time to steal the show and reign for a long time. I'm ready to fight on the night, and ready to hear that first bell."
