Dancing on Ice viewers ask 'am I the only one' as they're left distracted by Stephen Mulhern as he joins Holly Willoughby

Dancing on Ice viewers were left distracted by the exact same detail when it came to Stephen Mulhern's appearance during the show's launch. The ITV skating competition was back on Sunday night (January 14) with the presenter joining forces with Holly Willoughby.

Stephen and Holly's partnership comes two decades after they first joined forces on ITV Saturday morning children’s show Ministry Of Mayhem But they are now Dancing on Ice's new hosting duo and on Sunday, the series kicked off with an opening performance from the professional skaters and the introduction of the new celebrity contestants.

Holly, who looked sensational in a silver sparkly dress, officially opened the show by saying: "Welcome to the greatest show on ice, and let’s hear it for the amazing cast of 2024. Let me just say a huge welcome to Stephen Mulhern," before he shared his excitement at being there before cracking on with show one.

The first show of the 2024 series saw Ricky Hatton put in the skate off after a boxing-inspired performance did not thrill the judges or TV audience. The former world champion boxer, 45, received 12.5 points from the judges and he could face elimination next week following a public vote.

Dressed in a boxing outfit, Ricky wore knee pads as he did mini-punches and press-ups on the ice to Rocky movie theme tune Gonna Fly Now by Bill Conti, with his skating partner Robin Johnstone. Judge Ashley Banjo said it was "iconic" and that he could be proud of the audience’s reaction.
