Dana White congratulates Tom Aspinall after UFC London win

UFC president Dana White took the time to congratulate Tom Aspinall backstage after his win at UFC London on Saturday night.

In front of over 17,000 screaming fans at the O2 Arena, Tom Aspinall put on an absolute clinic in his main event fight with Alexander Volkov. From beginning to end he was in complete control of the bout and before the first round even came to an end, he was already celebrating on top of the cage after securing a brutal submission victory.

The win vaults him into the top five of the heavyweight division and confirms what many fans already knew – he’s going to be a big problem in that weight class for many years to come.

The next step for the 28-year-old is unknown but he’s certainly grabbed the attention of Dana White – and that’s an understatement.

In a moment captured by UFC cameras, Aspinall and White discussed the performance backstage and what it could mean for another UFC event in the UK this year.

“What do I think? I mean it doesn’t get any better than that. You’re going to break into the top five this week.”

“So, what you guys did tonight has got me all fired up about this place again. I’m gonna come back. 100% [this year].”
