Damon Heta claims PC18 in Milton Keynes
Australian Damon Heta became the second multiple winner in the Players Championship this year with a resounding 8-3 victory over Ryan Searle in Milton Keynes.
Heta added the Players Championship 18 title to his other win in February.
Teenager Luke Littler is the only other person to win two events this season.
"I look at my world ranking and my ProTour ranking and I don’t want to slip. I don’t want to put pressure on myself in other tournaments," said world number nine Heta, whose career Players Championship wins are now in double figures.
"I’m going to play in everything while I’m here because I’m not here forever and I’m trying to make a massive impact."
The 37-year-old averaged 106.8 in the final, having narrowly defeated Cameron Menzies 7-6 to get there.
Searle walked away with a runners-up cheque for £10,000 and an extended lead at the top of the Players Championship Order of Merit, having beaten Steve Beaton in the semi-finals after the 60-year-old stunned Michael van Gerwen in the last eight.
