Daizen Maeda insists Celtic WILL win title as bullish star adamant they are a stronger team than Rangers

Celtic winger Daizen Maeda insists Brendan Rodgers still has a better squad of players than Rangers.

Philippe Clement’s side could go above them at the top of the Premiership table on Wednesday night with a three-goal victory over Ross County at Ibrox. But Maeda - who won a Treble under ex-boss Ange Postecoglou last season - has claimed Celtic will still be crowned champions in May.

The Japanese star said: “Now, there isn’t much difference between Rangers and us, so it’s difficult. But getting results through this tough period will give us more confidence and we will eventually be champions at the end. Do we have a stronger squad than Rangers? Yes, if you look at the table, we’re currently above them. I feel we are a stronger team. However, we can’t be comfortable thinking we’ll win without doing anything. It’s important for us to keep thinking we are the challenger, against Rangers or any other team.”
