Time is sadly running out before the Manchester United and Portugal star brings the curtain down on his illustrious career.

It appears that Ronaldo currently has no intention to retire, but he turned 37 in February and his powers are beginning to wane.

Many football fans will be left kicking themselves if they never manage to catch Ronaldo, who is unquestionably one of the greatest players in history, live before he hangs up his boots.

One dad is desperate for his son to see Ronaldo in the flesh and has spent more than £3,000 in recent years – only for his efforts to end in failure on each occasion.

Every time Chris Broome has attempted to take his 12-year-old son, Zac, to watch Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has either been injured, benched or unwell.

Chris spent an eye-watering £1,550 to watch Ronaldo at Juventus in 2020 but the legendary forward was rested.

Then, in March, Chris splashed out another £1,500 on hospitality and hotels for the Manchester derby.

However, Ronaldo missed the 4-1 thrashing after sustaining a ‘hip flexor’ injury.

When Chris bagged a couple of free tickets for United’s home clash against Leicester City last weekend, he surely thought it would be a case of third time lucky.

But the 43-year-old father and his son, who live in Somerset, were left with a familiar feeling of disappointment when it was announced that Ronaldo was unwell.
