Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hails Cristiano Ronaldo applause ‘moment of the game’ after thrashing Man United
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Anfield’s moving show of support for Cristiano Ronaldo was the “moment of the game” as his side hammered Manchester United on Tuesday night.
Fans of the bitter rivals came together in the seventh minute of the fixture - representing Ronaldo’s shirt number - for a minute’s applause after the Portuguese’s newborn son passed away during childbirth.
Ronaldo did not feature in the game, which Liverpool won 4-0 to climb to the top of the Premier League, having been granted compassionate leave after he and partner Georgina Rodríguez announced the tragedy on Monday evening.
