Customers urged to return some Quorn products after allergy error

Customers who have bought some Quorn products are being urged to return their items over allergy fears.

The company has issued a product recall notice after two ingredients went undeclared, Food Standards Agency said.

Three of the vegetarian products — sweet chilli bites, korma bites, and garlic & herb bites — are affected, the watchdog confirmed.

It’s because the products did not declare they contained mustard and milk.

“Quorn Food is recalling three variants of its Quorn Bites products (Sweet Chilli, Korma, and Garlic & Herb) because they contain mustard and milk which are not mentioned on the label,” the FSA food alert on February 11 said.

“As a result of a packaging error some packs have been packaged incorrectly across the three variants. “This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and / or an allergy to mustard.”

Customers should return their items to the store and can receive a refund, the alert continued.

It added: “If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and / or an allergy to mustard do not eat it.
