CT City sign 18-year-old Gambian winger Kajally Drammeh

DStv Premiership outfit Cape Town City FC have confirmed the signing of Gambian teenager Kajally Drammeh.

The Citizens announced their fourth signing in a matter of days, snapping up the highly-rated 18-year-old from GFA League First Division side Real de Banjul "for a club record fee".

City have already signed Cameroonian midfielder Brice Ambina, Mogamat May from ABC Motsepe League side Hanover Park FC and Venezuelan winger Darwin Gonzalez.

During the January transfer window, City lost forwards Abdul Ajagun and Fagrie Lakay to Sudanese outfit Al Hilal and Egyptian side Pyramids FC respectively, as well as Abbubaker Mobara to AmaZulu.

City coach Eric Tinkler is delighted with the acquisition of Drammeh.

"Kajally Drammeh is a young, attacking player that we scouted from the Gambia. He's someone who we've been chasing since the start of the season but we only managed now to concluded the deal," said Tinkler.

"We've been watching him every single week in the Gambian league. He's 18 years old but shows a level of maturity that [indictaes] he's more than capable of already playing at the highest level.

"There was a lot of interest from Europe in him and I think we've managed to snap up a very talented young player before he made that move.

"Like I said, he's a very creative player, an intelligent footballer, can play wide, can play as a 10, so he's someone I believe will have a very bright future."
