Crystal Palace: Update reveals key position Eagles 'could look to strengthen'

Crystal Palace are not interested in welcoming Real Madrid ace Dani Ceballos to Selhurst Park but are keen on strengthening their defensive midfield options, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.

The Eagles endured a quiet January transfer window until Jean-Philippe Mateta made his loan move permanent for £9million and Derby County teenager Luke Plange joined on deadline day, but manager Patrick Vieira could look to add further reinforcements in the summer.

Although Ceballos failed to make a single appearance upon heading back to the Spanish capital until the early stages of 2022 due to an ankle injury, he has gone on to enjoy more game-time in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old midfielder also registered his first goal contribution of the campaign when he grabbed an assist in Real Madrid’s 2-1 extra-time win over Elche in the Copa del Rey in January.

Barclay told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m told there’s nothing at the moment at least. He’s not a name
