Cristiano Ronaldo under fire for latest Manchester United fans snub vs Burnley

Shay Given has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo's conduct after Manchester United's latest disappointment in their draw with Burnley.

The 37-year-old started off on the bench as Ralf Rangnick opted to include Edinson Cavani immediately after his extended break following the international break.

The Reds had the ball in the back of the net three times but saw VAR rule out Raphael Varane's header before Josh Brownhill was offered a reprieve after inadvertently putting the ball in his own goal as Paul Pogba was adjudged to have fouled in the build-up.

Pogba's opener was cancelled out by Jay Rodriguez and Ronaldo, on to look for a winner, failed to make his mark after his introduction and, as has been the case throughout this season, trudged off upon the final whistle.

Former Premier League shot-stopper, Given, highlighted the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's actions for criticism.

"The manager's don't get sacked because the manager's doing well or in a good place, Ole lost his job because he wasn't good enough," he told talkSPORT.

"It's a very difficult situation but being a part-time manager at a club of that size and stature of world football.

"He's got a lot of player's that fit into the team as well, obviously Ronaldo's a superstar, he doesn't look overly happy either - stormed down the tunnel last night again.

"That doesn't sit with away fans who've travelled to Burnley on a wet and cold night that's not difficult to go and clap your own fans so there's a lot of issues there at the minute."
