Cristiano Ronaldo Trolled With Kylian Mbappe Image After Controversial 'Ligue 1' Take

Legendary Portugal football team star Cristiano Ronaldo made a sensational claim at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai when he said that the Saudi Pro League is 'more competitive' than Ligue 1. Ronaldo joined Saudi club Al-Nassr in 2023 amid a major influx of investment in football in the country that included other big-money transfers for players like Neymar, Riyad Mahrez, Fabinho and Sadio Mane. The star footballer went on to say that he thinks that the Saudi Pro League has overtake Ligue 1 (the top flight of French football) and it is a much more 'competitive' competition.

“To be honest, I think the Saudi league is not worse than the French league, in my opinion. In the French league, I think you have two or three teams who are a good level. In Saudi, I think it is more competitive."

“They can say whatever they want it is just opinion. I have played here for one year so I know what I am talking about. But, I think right now we are better than the French league,” Ronaldo said.

Ligue 1 did not take the comparison lightly and went on to post a sly dig on the internet.

The official account of the French league shared a picture of Kylian Mbappe holding Ronaldo's face without any caption on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The picture was from a  friendly match between PSG and Al-Nassr in January 2023, where PSG won 5-4.
