Cristiano Ronaldo sends Manchester United promise after picking up latest Premier League award

Cristiano Ronaldo has promised his "hunger for victory and achievements will never fade away" as he reacted to picking up his second Player of the Month award of the season.

The Portuguese superstar was named the recipient of the Premier League’s award for April after some stellar performances. Ronaldo scored five goals in four appearances last month, with his goals helping secure a total of four points for his club.

Among his glut of goals was a superb hat-trick to guide United to a 3-2 win over Norwich at Old Trafford, while he also earned his side a point with his equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea. Ronaldo also found the back of the net during the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner saw off competition from the likes of Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus to claim his second award of the campaign. Ronaldo took to Instagram on Thursday to show off the latest addition to his vast collection of awards. And the 37-year-old still has his eyes set on picking up more accolades during his career.

“My 2nd Premier League Player Of The Month Award, the 6th in my career,” Ronaldo wrote. “I’m as happy to win today as I was in my early days, the hunger for victory and achievements never fades away. Thanks to everyone that made this possible.”

Ronaldo has proven to be a rare spark in an otherwise dismal season for United as he’s continued his remarkable goalscoring exploits since returning to Old Trafford. The former Real Madrid and Juventus star has scored 24 times in all competitions, with his 18 league goals putting him behind only Mohamed Salah (22) and Son Heung-min (20) in the race for the Golden Boot.
