Cristiano Ronaldo sends three-word message after ex-Man United star's Portugal meltdown

Former Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has responded on social media after his latest emotional outburst while playing for and captaining Portugal against Scotland on Tuesday night.

Ronaldo's team drew 0-0 in their Nations League match-up at Hampden Park. Roberto Martinez's players still top the group by three points, though, but were left frustrated against a team who have won just once in 16 matches.

Ronaldo demonstrated his anger post-match, at the referee, seemingly at a contentious decision that was made. The 39-year-old could be seen waving his arms as he stomped off the pitch in Glasgow. And the legendary former winger turned striker has now reacted on social media.

"We continue together," he said in Portuguese while captioning an image on Instagram. The image featured him alongside some of his international teammates.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has enjoyed a prolific run of matches in front of goal for both club and country. Ronaldo has scored eight goals in all competitions for Al-Nassr this season, while he'd netted in his previous two Nations League games before Tuesday night's goalless draw.

Ronaldo had two spells at to Old Trafford having, initially, played for United between 2003 and 2009. The forward returned in September 2021 and scored 24 goals across all competitions in 2021/22, but the club endured a difficult season which saw them finish sixth in the Premier League under Ralf Rangnick - after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking.
