Cristiano Ronaldo's true feelings on Ruben Amorim as Manchester United verdict sent
Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has backed Ruben Amorim to turn things around at Old Trafford after a mixed start to his tenure.
Amorim began work at United in mid-November and has overseen a mixed bag of results in that time. The highlight came during a thrilling 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
Since then, United have lost three on the bounce and sit 14th in the Premier League table. Infamously, Ronaldo fell out with Amorim's predecessor Erik ten Hag, publicly criticising the Dutchman in a series of interviews both during and after his second spell with the Reds.
Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo sees a brighter future for United under Amorim after being asked for his thoughts at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. "He [Amorim] did a fantastic job in Portugal with my [former club] Sporting," he explained.
"But the Premier League is a different beast, the most competitive league in the world. I knew that it would be tough and they will continue the storm.
"But the storm will finish and the sun will rise. Fingers crossed, it will be good with him and I hope the best for Manchester United because it is a club I still love."
Ronaldo was named the Best Middle East player in 2024 at the Globe Soccer Awards after an impressive season so far with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. The 39-year-old has scored 16 goals in 19 appearances this campaign across all competitions.
After leaving United on a free in 2022, Ronaldo has managed to bag 74 goals in 83 appearances for Al Nassr.
