Cristiano Ronaldo’s stance on Inter Miami transfer revealed as David Beckham sanctions stunning move

Cristiano Ronaldo’s stance on joining Inter Miami has been revealed as David Beckham attempts to bring the Manchester United striker to the MLS.

Manchester United news, exclusives and analysis

Ronaldo was desperate to leave Old Trafford last summer and is expected to renew his efforts to move during the January transfer window.

The Portugal legend has started just one of United’s seven league games this season and is said to be ‘furious’ with Erik ten Hag, who is views as ‘stubborn’.

The issue surrounding Ronaldo’s future has always been a lack of viable offers, with clubs either priced out of a move or viewing the 38-year-old as past his best.

But Ronaldo has been offered hope of securing a January transfer with MLS side Inter Miami planning to launch a sensational move.

Inter Miami, co-owned by former Manchester United and England winger Beckham, were linked with Ronaldo last summer and are ready to revive their interest in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

The Sun claim Ronaldo would give ‘serious’ thought to a move to America, although that may be more due to his frustration at United than his admiration for the MLS.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has publicly insisted he will continue to rely on Ronaldo this season but the former Ajax boss has preferred the pace and energy of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

United are reluctant to lose Ronaldo, who was the club’s top goalscorer last season, but will likely sanction his departure in January if terms are acceptable.

Ronaldo’s former Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney discussed the Portuguese’s struggles this weekend.

‘The manager’s obviously gone a different way in terms of how they’re playing and been successful,’ said Rooney, who now manages MLS side DC United.
