Cristiano Ronaldo's son didn't speak to him for two days after dad made him so angry

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed how his fierce competitive edge once meant his son didn't speak to him for two days.

The Manchester United legend's relentless drive to win is well-documented, having recently tallied 899 career goals. But it was a laid-back game of paddle that ignited the father-son rivalry.

In a discussion with Rio Ferdinand on his UR Cristiano YouTube channel, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner admitted his son, Cristiano Jr, didn't speak to him for two days after the dispute, reports the Mirror.

"I was in the Red Sea a couple of days ago and I played paddle everyday, me and Cristiano Jr and we got mad," Ronaldo said. He then revealed how his son shares his competitive streak: "He won't speak with me for like, two days."

While Ronaldo's move to Al-Nassr has removed him from the European stages, his zealous spirit remains intact and he expressed pleasure in seeing his kids, including his six-year-old, Mateo, embody the quintessential Ronaldo competitiveness.

"This is why I'm happy. Even the small one, Mateo, they are at peace (when they are angry), but I like this, it shows they have personality," he said.

"But serious, my kids they are like me and I don't teach them, they see by example because sometimes when I lost I get angry or sometimes I cry, depending of the moment and they are kind of the same. So even with my kids I compete with. I always want to win, I give nothing away for free."
