Cristiano Ronaldo ruining Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger at Euro 2020

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s summer has been a bit of a strange one.

The Portuguese superstar seems intent on leaving his beloved Manchester United, but has, thus far, failed to find a new club to call home.

Strangely, clubs across Europe have gone cold on the idea of having the great man on their books, with reports of several outfits turning down the opportunity to sign him.

As a result, his career is rather up in the air and, with the new season careering over the horizon, we still don’t know where he might be playing.

It is a far cry from last summer when Ronaldo was at the heart of a mini bidding war for his services among the Manchester clubs.

Manchester United called in the big guns to steal the superstar from under the noses of their rivals, City, and he arrived back at Old Trafford to a hero’s welcome.

He repaid the faith as well as, in amongst a shambles of a season, he somehow netted 24 crucial goals to keep United’s stuttering season bobbing on.

He also was up to his usual tricks in the colours of Portugal in the European Championships.

One particular moment that encapsulates the joyous summer months he was having came when he sent Antonio Rudiger on a merry jig with a sultry piece of control.

In the space of two glorious touches, Ronaldo showed Rudiger who was boss, using the first to casually pop it over him before cracking out the no-look to redirect it into the path of a teammate.

It might be best for us to let the footage do the talking, though:
