Cristiano Ronaldo ‘offered to Chelsea’ and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Representatives of Cristiano Ronaldo have reportedly approached new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly and offered their client’s services to Chelsea.

It appears the superstar striker wants to leave Manchester United halfway through his two-year deal. He netted 24 goals in his homecoming season at United after signing a two-year deal in August.

However, Ronaldo wants to exit his contract early due to a salary reduction, United’s slow transfer activity this summer and the club’s unlikelihood of trophy success. United say he is not for sale and expect him to see out his contract until next year.

But a report from the Evening Standard claims Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has offered him to Chelsea after meeting with Boehly. Neymar has also reportedly been offered to the Blues with the new owners promising Thomas Tuchel six new signings this window.

Meanwhile, Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda says Barcelona is one place Ronaldo will not go. The La Liga giants currently find themselves in huge debts, thought to total £1bn and Ronaldo is a former Real Madrid favourite.

Barca are expected to allow a number of players to leave this summer, one of which could be number one United target Frenkie de Jong. As such, the club would not be able to sustain the wage demands of Ronaldo.
