Cristiano Ronaldo: Man Utd star couldn't believe it after missing sitter vs Omonia

Cristiano Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes as Manchester United beat Omonia in their Europa League clash on Thursday evening.

Ronaldo has found minutes hard to come bu this season but he was in the startin glineup for his side’s trip to Cyprus.

A shock looked on the cards when Omonia profited from some poor United defending to take the lead in the 34th minute.

But United turned the game around after the break.

Goals from Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford (2) gave United a 3-1 lead.

Omonia pulled one back in the 85th minute through Nikolas Panagiotou but United held on to secure all three points.

Ronaldo was looking to score his 700th club goal of his career in Cyprus.

But, despite his best efforts, he could not find a way past Fabiano.

Ronaldo had eight shots against the Cypriot side but could not find the back of the net.

His best chance came in the 78th minute.

Diogo Dalot pulled the ball back for Ronaldo and it looked almost certain that he would score from just a few yards out.

The legendary striker produced a first time shot but his effort cannoned off the post and away to safety.

Ronaldo’s face said it all. He could not believe it.
