Cristiano Ronaldo ‘buries hatchet’ with Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford

Cristiano Ronaldo has been giving constructive criticism to Marcus Rashford after ‘burying the hatchet’ with his Manchester United team-mate.

Manchester United news, exclusives and analysis

The 37-year-old has lost his spot in United’s starting XI this term and has started just once in the Premier League.

Rashford has been the main beneficiary of Ten Hag’s decision to drop Ronaldo and the England forward has regained his best form this term, scoring three times in six matches.

That caused friction between the pair in August, when Ronaldo was still insistent on his desire to leave Old Trafford.

Ronaldo was absent from United’s pre-season tour and many of his team-mates were keen to see the 37-year-old leave the club as they felt his presence was a hinderance.

But the Sun say Ronaldo’s attitude has improved since the transfer window closes and it became apparent that he would not get his wish of leaving the Theatre of Dreams.

Ronaldo has now rediscovered his focus and is now lending a helping hand to Rashford, who is keeping him out of the team.

It’s said the veteran is giving Rashford ‘constructive’ criticism about his positioning, decision-making and run choices.

Rashford is said to be surprised at Ronaldo’s help and genuinely appreciates the time that he’s taken to help him with his game.
