Crépeau , Laryea named to MLS all-star roster after Canada's World Cup run

Two players from Canada's FIFA World Cup team have been named to the roster for this month's Major League Soccer all-star game.

Goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau and Richie Laryea were on the 29-man squad unveiled by the league on Wednesday.

Crépeau, who plays for Orlando City, was one of 13 players picked by head coach Dean Smith of host club Charlotte FC.

The 32-year-old keeper was named Canada's starter for the World Cup in early June. He played every minute of the nation's five games before Les Rouges were eliminated from the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Morocco in the Round of 16 on Saturday.

He joined the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019 and logged time with Los Angeles FC and Portland Timbers before signing with Orlando ahead of the 2026 campaign.

Crépeau won an MLS Cup with LAFC in 2022, but broke his leg in the final, an injury that kept him off Canada's World Cup roster in Qatar.

Laryea, from Toronto, has had a solid season for TFC, too, tallying two goals and two assists across nine regular-season appearances.

The Canadian duo are among 13 MLS all stars who were named to the World Cup rosters of eight different nations.
