Crashes close two main roads in Rhondda Valleys

Two crashes in separate parts of the Rhondda valley has lead to road closures on two main roads. South Wales Police are currently attending both the scenes, and have asked people to avoid the area.

The first collision took place at Rhondda Fawr at the A4061, Treherbert outside Spar stores. The road is currently blocked in both the directions, and motorists have been told to avoid the area. The crash was reported by South Wales Police at around 6pm this evening. According to our traffic monitoring system, Inrix, this incident has been cleared. WalesOnline has approached South Wales Police for confirmation but we have not had a confirmation yet.

The second crash occurred at North Terrace, in Maerdy, in Rhondda Fach at about 7pm this evening. The road is currently closed in both directions. South Wales police are attending the incident and have asked motorists to avoid the area or use alternative areas.
