Crash involving two lorries and a car closes A48 in both directions outside Cardiff

Two lorries and a car have been involved in a crash that has closed part of the A48 in the Vale of Glamorgan. The busy road is closed in both directions.

It is shut between the Aubrey Arms and the Welsh St Donats. South Wales Police said that officers were called to the scene just after 11am on Monday morning.

Three people have been taken to the University Hospital of Wales for treatment with minor injuries, a spokesman for the force said.

He added: "The road is closed while vehicles are recovered. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes."

Traffic monitoring system Inrix is showing that traffic between Cardiff and Cowbridge is affected.
