Crash closes two lanes of M4 causing hour long delays - Live updates

A crash has closed two lanes of the M4 this evening causing long delays near Swansea. The area where the crash has happened is along the M4 westbound from junction 42 A483 Swansea East/ Briton Ferry to junction 43 A465 Llandarcy.

Traffic is moving very slowly as a result through Port Talbot as the incident is being dealt with. Travel time in the area is now around 50 minutes. There is congestion to J40 and lanes two and three remain closed. According to traffic monitoring system Inrix, the crash happened at just after 5pm on Friday night (November 18). It is not yet clear how many vehicles are involved. The emergency services have been contacted.
