Covid hospitalisations continue to fall across Greater Manchester as infection rates plummet
The hospitalisation of patients with coronavirus is continuing to fall across the region as the infection rates also see a decline.
Coronavirus infection rates have fallen in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester and remain below the national average, figures have revealed.
Stockport continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester, with 407.6 cases per 100,000 people as of the week ending February 12.

The lowest infection rate is in Oldham, where the rate is 270.2 cases per 100,000 people.
In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 343.2 cases per 100,000 population.
The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 569.1 cases per 100,000 people.
A total of 9,732 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on February 12.
The Greater Manchester weekly total has decreased by 5511 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was down 36 per cent in the last week..
Hospital admissions
In the week ending on February 06, a total of 538 patients were admitted to Greater Manchester NHS hospitals with Covid-19. That is 57 fewer than the week before, a fall of 12 per cent.
On Tuesday February 08, there were 25 Mechanical Ventilation (MV) beds occupied by Covid patients in Greater Manchester NHS hospitals. That is five fewer than a week earlier.
