Coventry City fans pile in after shock Everton transfer claims emerge
Coventry City fans have had their say after news emerged regarding a possible move to Everton for striker Viktor Gyokeres.
The 24-year-old striker opened his account for the 2022/23 in Coventry's opening fixture of the Championship season with a late strike against Sunderland to secure a point for Mark Robins' side last month.
The Swedish forward has carried over his form from last season, which saw him net 17 goals in an impressive campaign for the Sky Blues who finished 12th and that has now led to interest from the Premier League.
According to Swedish Championship podcast “Football’s Coming Home”, Gyokeres is negotiating with Everton regarding a move to join Frank Lampard's side just days after the season started. A role in the side has opened following an injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, leaving the Toffees with just one recognised striker at the club in the form of Salomon Rondon.
Here is what Coventry fans have had to say regarding the news...
: Makes sense unfortunately. Everton are into panic buying and big Vik is currently in the limelight. Just hope we can get a good fee for him. He was the only one to show a glimmer of hope against Sunderland.
£20m. Market value.
See ya then, Vik.
Was coming.
Surprised that a struggling team like Everton are interested.
Oh dear.
