Countdown on to 2024 Dalbeattie Hardrock Challenge - and it could be the last one

The countdown is on to this year’s Dalbeattie Hardrock Challenge – and it could be the last one ever..

This will be the 20th and final time the event has taken place under the original committee featuring Andy Webster and Stuart Macintosh.

They said: “It may be that others might want to continue it or introduce a different format in future. It’s becoming harder to keep to the original idea and associated logistics.

“We feel that it is better to stop now before things possibly get stale.

“The support we have had over two decades has been terrific and we are hopeful that this will be the case one more time.”

This year’s Hardrock Challenge will take place on the weekend of October 5 and 6. Anyone who is prepared to marshal should give their details to Michelle at Dalbeattie Community Initiative office or call 01556 612518.

While the organisers are grateful for all help, they ask that only those who will definitely be there put their names forward as no shows caused problems last year. It is expected access and parking will be the same as last year but this could change. Information will be available through the event’s Facebook page and SiEntries.
