'Could leave' - Fabrizio Romano drops Everton transfer news involving 'brilliant' speedster

Everton are among the clubs interested in signing Montpellier forward Stephy Mavididi this summer, according to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Taking to Twitter, Romano outlined a range of possible destinations for Mavididi in the upcoming summer transfer window.

He said: “Stephy Mavididi could leave Montpellier this summer. Many clubs have approached his agents including West Ham, Brighton, Southampton, Everton and OM. Deal still at early stages but there are good chances for Mavididi to make his move in the coming weeks.”

As reports continue to link Blues’ star Richarlison with a move away from Goodison Park, capable of playing as a left-winger and as a centre-forward, Mavididi could be considered the ideal like for like replacement for Frank Lampard’s squad.

During 2021/22, the man hailed for a ‘brilliant’ goal against AS Monaco in January by journalist Andy Brassell netted eight goals and provided three assists in 30 league outings.

Sharing similar stylistic traits to skilful operators such as West Ham ace Said Benrahma and Wolves’ Hwang Hee-chan (Fbref), Mavididi mightn’t possess the dynamism and tenacity of Richarlison but nevertheless could provide a different type of potency to what was a lacklustre Everton attack at times last term.
