'Could do with him starting' - Tim Spiers makes plea to Bruno Lage over one Wolves gem

Wolves manager Bruno Lage should consider giving Pedro Neto more starts after his return from injury, according to reliable journalist Tim Spiers.

The 21-year-old was arguably Wanderers’ best player this time last year before he was cruelly struck down with a serious knee injury.

Neto has only recently returned, with his absence from the team lasting more than nine months, and having him back could be a massive boost for Lage.

However, the winger has only made three cameo appearances totalling 39 minutes since his comeback, failing to make much of an impact as Wolves have suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats over the last week.

Taking to Twitter after Sunday’s 1-0 loss away to West Ham, Spiers believes that it is time for Neto to be given more starts now that he is fit again.

The journalist stated: “Asking a lot of Neto but could do with him starting.”

As Spiers has said, it would be wrong to expect Neto to be back to his best straight away if he starts games, but he could benefit from being given a more proper run in the team again.

He has looked lively at times in his appearances since returning, and with Wolves struggling a little in an attacking sense – they have only scored 24 goals in 26 league games this season – they could do with freshening things up in attack.

Neto, who contributed five goals and six assists in the top flight last season, is a tremendous talent who can help to play his part in giving Wolves’ season an injection of attacking brilliance at a crucial point in the campaign.

In other news, Spiers also criticised one Wolves player’s performance against West Ham. Read more here.
