Millwall are said to be one of two Championship clubs interested in signing Charlie Cresswell on loan from Leeds United.
That’s according to the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth, with the England youth international potentially heading for his first loan away from Elland Road.
Cresswell, 19, is very highly-rated at Elland Road, yet he’s down the pecking order as fifth choice and Leeds seem like they want to push the teenager in 2022/23.
So, is Millwall and linking up with Gary Rowett a good move?

With Dan Ballard potentially heading elsewhere next season following a successful loan spell with the Lions in 2021-22, Gary Rowett needs to have alternative centre-backs on his shopping list.
And with some Premier League experience under his belt last season, Cresswell is probably due a stint playing regular football in the second tier of English football.
Having become somewhat of a regular for England’s under-21’s recently, Cresswell needs all the game-time he can get to keep on developing.
There’s no reason why he couldn’t slot straight in at The Den in Rowett’s back three and be a very solid addition – Millwall aren’t known for leaking lots of goals and a season at the Lions could really enhance Cresswell’s reputation.
