Costa issues urgent 'do not eat' warning over products
Costa is recalling several items from its menu which may pose a safety risk. The coffeehouse chain has issued an urgent warning to anyone who has bought sandwiches or wraps from its shops in recent days and has urged 'do not eat' them.
This is because the four products could pose a choking hazard after fears that they may contain small stones. Costa is therefore encouraging its customers to return the potentially affected items to where they were bought in return for a full refund.
The Food Standards Agency put out an alert today (September 8) to warn Costa customers that the foods are potentially dangerous and 'unsafe to eat'. The warning was issued on the Government department website stating: "Costa is recalling several sandwich and wrap products because they may contain small stones. This may present a choking hazard and are unsafe to eat."
