Cost £22m, now worth 227% more: Spurs struck a dream deal with £140k-p/w "revelation" - opinion

Heung-min Son continues to prove his immense worth to Tottenham Hotspur.

The north London outfit ended a run of three successive league defeats with an impressive last-gasp victory over defending champions and current leaders Manchester City and the South Korean sensation played a starring role, as he often does in the big games.

Over the last six-and-a-half years, Son has delivered 117 goals and 71 assists across 309 appearances, which works out to be a direct contribution once every 110 minutes – almost one goal or assist every game, as per Transfermarkt.

Those are remarkable returns and ones that prove the sheer level of consistency and quality that he is delivering for the club. And considering he cost half of Tanguy Ndombele, it has been phenomenal business from Spurs.

Now in the peak years of his career, Son’s transfer valuation has soared to £72m via Transfermarkt, a whopping 227% increase on what they paid.

Such form in a Spurs shirt has garnered plenty of glowing endorsements from those that have
