Corrie van Zyl appointed new WPCA CEO

Former Free State and South African fast bowler, Corrie van Zyl is the new chief executive officer of the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).

He has signed a five-year contract.

An effective swing bowler in his playing days, Van Zyl has extensive experience in cricket administration, having held various roles for Cricket South Africa and also served as a franchise coach in South Africa. 

Johannes Adams, WPCA president, said the appointment was exciting.

"WPCA is therefore privileged to have a person of the calibre of Corrie van Zyl to lead the organization at a key juncture on its journey to be the pre-eminent cricket union in South Africa," Adams said in a press release.

"We are excited to welcome Corrie van Zyl as the new CEO of the Western Province Cricket Association, and we look forward to working closely with and supporting him to achieve our strategic objectives for our exciting future."
