Coronation Street star Tony Maudsley cheekily branded his own co-star a 'witch' after he made a threat while showing off his attempts to get in the festive spirit. Christmas is hurtling towards us and the actor decided to partake in a particular pastime at this time of year.

While it might not be for everybody, Tony, known for playing George Shuttleworth in the ITV soap, decided to try his hand at wreath making and after putting together his own creation, he decided to show it off on social media.

Posing with he green trimming, which had been decorated with berries, red flowers and a festive bow, Tony stood in his kitchen for a snap and said; "Was feeling very crafty today and decided to make my own Christmas door wreath."

He then hilariously warned: "If anyone says it's shit they're getting BLOCKED!! I was going for 'rustic'!" And Antony Cotton was among the first to respond. The Sean Tully actor bluntly said: "It’s s**t," to which Tony replied: "You evil WITCH!!!!! I hope you're turkey crown is burnt!!!!!"

More of his co-stars saw the funny said with Lisa George (Beth Sutherland) posting crying laughing emojis before Antony shot back: "Just don’t hang it indoors at yours, it’ll freeze!"

Toyah Habeeb actress Georgia Taylor, meanwhile, said: "So lovely darling," while Sally Carman-Duttine, known for playing Abi Webster, posted: "I LOVE it!!" Jude Riordan (Sam Blakeman) and Patti Clare (Mary Taylor) also shared clapping emojis and hearts in the comments section of Tony's post.
