Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien shares pride and begs 'please' as daughter follows in her footsteps

Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien appeared full of pride as she implored her fans and followers to help her daughter continue to follow in her footsteps. The actress shares teen Scarlett Thomas with her former co-star ex Ryan Thomas and fans may actually recognise her for appearing in the new series of Waterloo Road.

Scarlett joined the popular school dramas last year as Izzi alongside her uncle and cousin. Adam Thomas, Ryan's younger brother, is known for playing Donte Charles in the show and reprised his role when it was rebooted earlier this year while his son also got the role of Tommy, both of them being Donte's children.

And taking to Instagram on Wednesday (September 13), Tina revealed that her daughter is already up for her first award. The soap star, who is known for playing Sarah Barlow in Corrie, shared a typed-out message with her 516,000 followers on her Instagram Story

It read: "So proud of @scarlettjthomas26. She is nominated for an award @tvtimesmagazine for her portrayal of Izzi on @waterlooroad.." She added: "Please if you have two mins vote for her," before sharing the link to the voting form. She also shared a picture of Scarlett in character, adding: "Please take two mins to vote @scarlettjthomas26."

Back in June, Tina shared how she was left in tears over her daughter's performance in the show. In the scenes, Izzy was seen emotionally paying tribute to her late mum who tragically died hours after being knocked down by a car outside the school amid a student protest.
