Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien 'gutted' as she teases Sarah's part in Stephen's 'downfall'

Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has said she's 'gutted' as she teased how her character may end up being involved in Weatherfield's hidden villain's downfall.

Sarah Barlow was left humiliated in the ITV soap's latest scenes after the real father of her unborn child was exposed. But viewers didn't have much sympathy for the character as it was revealed that her affair with Damon Hay led to her falling pregnant.

Despite the affair having been exposed, Sarah couldn't be sure who the father of her baby was so she and her husband decided to have a paternity test. Adam found himself accidentally believing he was the father as Sarah comforted him following a panic attack in court.

Sarah instinctively told him he has no reason to worry. However, Adam misunderstood and assumed she had the paternity test results back that confirmed he was in fact the father. Despite his initial joy, Adam was still in doubt about whether he really was going to be a dad.

But Sarah had torn up the results and disposed of them in the bin and so you can imagine her shock when she saw the letter among Stephen's belongings as they crashed to the floor on the street courtesy of his ex's son Tim Metcalfe. After railing at him for his interference, Stephen managed to convince his niece to open the results.

But as she did, and desperately read what it said, she broke down in tears as he did his best to support her. Later, Adam picked up another letter with the paternity results after requesting a new one and when he opened them, Sarah braced herself for him to discover the baby was in fact Damon's however, she was surprised when he opened them and was quick to
