Coronation Street star 'burst out crying' over storyline as co-star sweetly thanks him

Coronation Street star Antony Cotton admitted that he 'burst out crying' when filming recently aired scenes that saw him flooded with praise. The actor has found himself at the forefront of the ITV soap as part of the heartbreaking bullying storyline.

Earlier this week, viewers saw Antony's character Sean Tully rail at his son Dylan Wilson, played by Liam McCheyne, as he discovered he was involved in bullying Liam Connor. The teen has been being picked on and taunted both in-person and online for months by Weatherfield High bully Mason Radcliffe and his gang of mates - including Dylan.

Liam is now currently preparing for professional help after his mum Maria Windass and step-dad Gary Windass discovered he was contemplating taking his own life as he hit rock bottom amid his bullying hell.

After witnessing Liam's stepdad attack Mason in the precinct park after threatening both him and Liam, Sean was horrified and threatened to go to the police if it happened again. However, in an attempt to prove that Dylan wasn't bullying Liam, he demanded his phone, which Dylan eventually reluctantly handed over.

As he looked through his messages, Sean was disgusted and confronted his son, saying he was ashamed, particularly for his homophobic comments due to his dad being gay. Viewers praised Sean for finally discovering the truth and reprimanding his son but later, he found himself being advised by Eileen Grimshaw to give his son a chance, with Dylan promising he'd admit to everything and put things right.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Thursday (February 22).
