Coronation Street's Georgia Taylor speaks on meeting co-star beau and real feelings behind Toyah and Leanne scenes

Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has opened up about life on the famous show, from meeting her now boyfriend on set and the real feelings behind her character Toyah Habeeb's scenes with on-screen sister Leanne Battersby, played by real-life friend Jane Danson.

It comes as it has been revealed by the ITV soap that this June, the powerhouses that are some of the women of the cobbles will be taking over as secrets unfold, lies are unearthed and love is put to the test.

As part of the month, Corrie gathered the nine ladies at the forefront of the drama together to shoot a bunch of gorgeous new exclusive images and chat about their own friendships and life on the soap in 2024.

Among them is Georgia, who is famed for playing Weatherfield's Toyah. She first arrived on the cobbles at just 17 years old, back in 1997, along with Janice and Les Battersby and Les's daughter Leanne, with their arrival coming after it was announced the 'family from hell' were to be introduced to the hit soap to stir up some trouble.

Toyah later left the Street in 2003 after finding out that her boyfriend John Arnley had cheated on her with her best friend Maria Sutherland, leading Georgia to take on a few other acting roles. The actress, from Wigan, joined the cast of Casualty as doctor Ruth Winters in 2007 and she was a series regular until 2011. She also made appearances in Where the Heart is, Law and Order: UK and Life on Mars.
