Wales rugby squad announcement live: Gatland names players for summer tour

Warren Gatland will announce his squad for the summer matches against South Africa and Australia today. The coach is expected to stick with his policy of blooding young players, although there could be returns for the likes of senior men Liam Williams and Cory Hill.

Cardiff back Ben Thomas is also hopeful of a call-up after impressing in recent weeks, while Ospreys back rower Morgan Morris will be crossing his fingers his time has come.

Josh Adams is likely to be missing after an injury-plagued year, while Adam Beard is definitely out of the tour.

Wales play South Africa at Twickenham on June 22 before travelling Down Under for two tests against the Wallabies and a clash with Queensland Reds in July.

With the South Africa match being played outside of World Rugby's international window, Gatland is without several key players who play their club rugby in England, including Six Nations captain Dafydd Jenkins.
