Coronation Street's David Platt 'in real mess' as Shona goes missing in shock revenge plan
David Platt is left 'in a real mess' in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as his wife Shona goes missing in what appears to be a shock revenge plan.
Fans of the ITV soap know that following the exit of his mum Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth for 50 years, things are about to get a lot more intense and dramatic for the Platt clan, seemingly because David is being sought out for stealing money belonging to criminal Harvey Gaskell.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, producer Kate Brooks was recently quick to confirm that it "goes to pot" for the iconic soap family following the matriarch's exit, as she explained: "David has stolen a big old bag of cash from Harvey, which was the wrong move. He’s done it for the house and the family, but this escalates massively..."
It's now been revealed that after David the dog was ran over, in Corrie scenes to be aired next week, Shona leaves the house, unaware that a man in a van is watching her as the van drives off at high speed. Shona’s mobile phone lies in the gutter. In the back of the van, Shona bangs on doors and shouts for help, but nobody hears her.
Meanwhile, David calls in the café and is shocked to discover Shona didn’t show up for work. David calls at the police station in a panic and tells Kit that first the dog was run over and now Shona has gone missing and he suspects Harvey is behind it. Later, David asserts that he’ll find somewhere else to stay as Harvey’s more likely to come after him. David then calls at Nick Tilsley's flat and admits that unless he can come up with the money for Harvey, his whole family is in danger.
Trying to put an end to what he believes is Harvey's reign or terror and realising that the only way he can raise the cash to pay Harvey back
