Coronation Street's Colson Smith admits how he really wanted to reveal exit as he shares 'real statement'

Coronation Street star Colson Smith has shared his brilliant 'real statement' about his cobbles exit. The actor confirmed at the start of the week that he'll be bowing out of the ITV soap this year.

Colson is famed for playing Craig Tinker on the ITV soap. Colson has grown up alongside his character on-screen, having first appeared in Weatherfield as the son of Beth Tinker, played by Lisa George, as a youngster back in 2011.

"I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street. I've learned pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home. I’m excited to play out the exit story for Our Craigy."

Colson added: "For Me, this is just the end of the beginning. I genuinely can’t wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!"

But he's since taken to TikTok to reveal that he was somewhat forced to reveal his exit news and as he was advised to share a statement on his own terms, he had to think about how to sum up more than a decade of playing his alter-ego Craig.

And the self-confessed Hannah Montana: The Movie fan has now shared how he really wanted to announce the news. In the video he said: "I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sent me
