Coronation Street's Alison King makes rare public appearance after co-star's behind-the-scenes 'healing' praise

Coronation Street star Alison King made a rare public appearance alongside a number of her co-stars as they ditched the cobbles for a bit of thrillseeking - which some may say they may also experience during the ups and downs of life in Weatherfield.

The actress, famed for playing Carla Barlow in the ITV soap, was among the stars heading to Alton Towers amid the relaunch of its most famous ride. Co-stars Antony Cotton, Daniel Brocklebank, Elle Mulvaney and Tanisha Gorey were also among those getting a first go on Nemesis Reborn.

The new-look ride which officially opened on Saturday (March 16) following a revamp of the iconic Nemesis which entertained millions of thrill-seekers since its launch three decades ago.

Now, Nemesis Reborn has seen the entire 250-tonne, 716-metre-long track replaced. The two ride trains have also been replaced - transforming the breathtaking experience for thrill-seekers. In addition, extensive, new, immersive story-telling elements will propel visitors into a compelling new narrative from the moment guests set foot in the Resort’s Forbidden Valley.

Corrie favourite Alison was snapped smiling outside the entrance for the ride which was given a test run by her previously mentioned co-stars on Friday night (March 15) before it was opened up to the public on Saturday (March 16).

Corrie's Jack P Shepherd also took a breather from keeping up to date with his friend and co-star Colson Smith's antics in the Celebrity Big Brother house to enjoy the new attraction while Mollie Gallagher and Harriet Bibby were all captured joining in the
