Coronation Street fans make demand over soap 'queen' Barbara Knox ahead of huge milestone

Coronation Street fans have branded Barbara Knox a 'Queen' as she was seen in a brand new portrait released ahead of her huge milestone. The actress, famed for playing Rita Tanner, is set to celebrate with the ITV soap's cast and crew this weekend.

That's because at the end of this month, on September 30, the Corrie favourite will be celebrating her 90th birthday. Marking the occasion earlier, the long-running show has released a gorgeous photo of the star.

In the picture, which has been on social media, Barbara can be seen smiling for the camera while dazzling in a glistening outfit featuring golden lines and intricate patterns.

ITV Studios has shared the image ahead of the star's 90th Birthday celebrations with cast and crew this weekend. And her soap legend status meant it didn't take fans long to flock to the post to share compliments and birthday wishes while some had a demand.
