Coronation Street fans know where they've seen prison guard before and claim she's 'next full-time cast member'

Coronation Street fans couldn't wait to point out where they have seen Weatherfield's latest prison guard before and claimed she could be the next 'full-time cast member' after dramatic scenes.

During Monday's (January 13) trip to the cobbles, fans of the ITV soap saw Rob Donovan's manipulative side rear its ugly head once again. As Carla prepared for a procedure, in which a tube would be fitted so she could have dialysis at home, Bobby again sloped off and paid his dad another visit in prison.

Rob claimed that he wanted to help his sister and make amends for the past after finding religion during his time behind bars but their conversation was interrupted when new inmate Matty Radcliffe caused a scene in the jail's visiting room, pulling out a knife and taking a female prison guard in his arms.

As the tense stand-off escalated, he then used Bobby as a hostage and threatened him too. But Rob seemingly found the right moment to pounce after attempts to talk Matty down and Bobby quickly credited him for saving his life.

Bobby later returned to Carla and told her how Rob was a changed man. But not everything was as it seemed as back in the prison, Rob was seen speaking to Matty and it was revealed that Rob had set up the entire situation to look like a good guy in front of Bobby.

But fans were distracted by the prison guard, Mandy, played by actress Rebecca Atkinson, famously known for her role as Karen Maguire in Channel 4's hit series Shameless from 2004 to 2013.
