Coronation Street fans think the second horrifying death of the year is on the way, after a string of stars confirmed their upcoming exits from the show.

Sue Cleaver has announced her plans to wave goodbye to Weatherfield after more than two decades in the role of Eileen Grimshaw. She said: “I’ve had 25 privileged years of working on Coronation Street. Colson Smith then confirmed he was told he is being axed this year as he marks 14 years playing Craig Tinker. He said he was called in for a chat back in October where he was told that it was the end of the road for his character, therefor his time on the famous street.

Actress Charlotte Jordan confirmed that she will be bowing out of the ITV soap this year after four years in the role of Daisy Midgeley. The star said in a statement: "My time at Coronation Street is something I'll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it's time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities."

More recently, Paddy Bever confirmed he'd already filmed his final scenes as Max Turner in Corrie. The 22-year-old said in a statement to the Mirror: "After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way."

He continued: "It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories."
