Coronation Street David Platt and Kit Green stars both issue two-word messages as on-screen rivalry intensifies

Coronation Street actors Jack P Shepherd and Jacob Roberts have waded into the reaction of their on-screen rivalry intensifiying ahead of dramatic scenes.

As fans of the ITV soap know, the pair play David Platt and Kit Green and it's only over the Christmas period that the pair have come to blows after it was revealed Kit had slept with David's wife Shona Platt.

The couple are currently in turmoil after Shona slept with the detective constable following a row with David about why he kept communications from her son Clayton Hibbs from her before his attempt to take his own life.

Over Christmas, David returned to to his old ways as he tricked Adam Barlow into drinking with him as he accused him of having an affair with Shona. They then took the matter outside the flat and drunk, Adam fell down the stairs with Shona and Sarah Platt finding him at the bottom with bloody injuries.

Sarah vowed to stay with her ex-husband as help arrived while David and Shona headed back to the wedding - but not before heading home first where a row ensued over Shona's infidelity and David's lack of care for her over her son, Clayton Hibbs, who recently attempted to take his own life when he thought his mum wanted nothing to do with him, as per David's words to him in prison.

Later, as Gail Platt was seen saying one last goodbye to her family, following her wedding to Jesse Chadwick, outside No.8 Coronation Street, where she has spent much of her five decades in Weatherfield, David was seen being confronted by Kit Green after he saw him with Adam after the accident. He then issued him a word of warning over his relationship with Shona, and made it clear he was the one she slept with.
