Corey Hall revisits pre-season motivation with Wakefield

Corey Hall says that he trained harder than ever before to make his Wakefield move a successful one in 2022.

Hall, 19, joined Trinity on a two-year deal ahead of the current campaign from Leeds.  

The centre played his scholarship rugby at Wakefield in 2018 before making the switch to Headingley Stadium.

He made his Super League debut in 2020 against Catalans and went on to make four appearances for Leeds before making the move. 

Hall has made 10 appearances for Wakefield in Super League so far, crossing for three tries. Speaking on Show Me The Money Rugby League TV, the youngster revealed the motivation behind his current form.

Speaking on the first episode of Player Focus, he said: “In pre-season, I went I want this now. I went training every day and got a gym membership and went to the gym three times a week on top of what I did there. 

“I was trying to get bigger. Last season at Leeds I was 88 kilos. I’m short of 94 now. I was trying to put size on. In pre-season, I was told I had to do more work than anybody. I was doing boxing sessions in the morning and three gym sessions. 

“It got to pre-season and I’m doing well and they started naming the teams in training. It’s like, you know the first team squad, and the other ones get bibs on. They named me in that. My eyebrows had gone up and I was thinking I’ve got a shot here.

“On my first day, I saw Bill Tupou and the size of him. They’ve got Reece Lyne and Thomas Minns. I’m looking at these and they’re all big people, so I thought I need to get bigger. That was my driving force. Every day I just wanted to get better.
