Conte 'would love to keep' £23m ace at Tottenham

Antonio Conte would “love to keep” Lucas Moura at Tottenham, claims transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.

The 29-year-old has barely played of late, but O’Rourke is convinced his manager wants him to remain in north London.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham have no intention of selling Moura this summer despite his lack of game time.

The Brazilian winger has not started in any of Spurs’ last eight league games, finding himself firmly behind Dejan Kulusevski in the pecking order.

The 21-year-old has displaced his team-mate following his arrival from Juventus in January and is unlikely to lose his place anytime soon.

In 10 Premier League appearances, Kulusevski has scored two goals and provided five assists, making him undroppable in this moment of time.

O’Rourke has told GIVEMESPORT that Conte wants to keep hold of Moura but faces a difficult task of accomplishing that if he continues to overlook the former Paris Saint-Germain man, who has been involved in 64 goals during his time at Spurs.

Speaking to GMS, the football journalist said: “Conte would love to keep him around the place, but if he’s not playing in that team on a regular basis, it’s going to be harder and harder to keep him.”

If things continue this way, it is hard to imagine Moura not exploring an exit in the summer.

Conte and Tottenham may indeed want to keep him, but his lack of game time is likely to become a problem, and it is hard to see how exactly he gets back into this team right now.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, with their exceptional goalscoring records, are always going to be starters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while again, Kulusevski cannot be taken out of the starting XI
